Introduction
A sprinkler or mechanized irrigation system is the most water efficient irrigation system. Sprinklers have great market potential because of their increased usage in agricultural irrigation and equally strong demand in developing agriculture-based countries, like India and China, where penetration of modern irrigation system is very low.

Sprinkler-based irrigation systems are getting huge acceptance all across the globe as they are supposed to aid agricultural productivity in long term and help realize the goal of food self sufficiency. The technology has already been adopted at a wider scale in various countries including the United States, Israel, and Europe, wherein North America and Europe being the highest in terms of using drip and sprinkler irrigation systems .The use of sprinkler technology is however quite low in the Asian countries. Within Asia, India and China are utilizing the technology the most, but the market potential is still too high seeing their huge and continuously rising population. The demand of this technology is becoming popular worldwide mostly because of its high efficiency and low water usage.

Water is a precious resource and therefore its usage should be in an efficient manner. Also, water scarcity is one of the most important factors driving growth in agriculture-based industries. Low availability of water for irrigation, labor cost, etc., have driven the need for these highly efficient mechanized irrigation systems amongst the growers. Another important growth driver is increased focus on rice production in Asian countries. As rice crops require a lot of water, and that too uniformly distributed, the need for these sprinkler irrigation systems becomes never-ending.
